Terms of use

Last updated 31 October 2026

By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

What this site is

Code.House publishes free educational articles, free browser-based tools and curated video links, and provides a way to contact the site operator about building software, sponsorship, advertising, partnership or the domain name itself. Access is free and no account is required.

Acceptable use

  • Do not use the site in any way that breaks the law or infringes anyone's rights.
  • Do not attempt to interfere with the site, its hosting, or other users' access to it.
  • Do not scrape the site at a rate that burdens the server, and do not republish the written content wholesale. Quoting with attribution and a link is welcome.
  • Do not use the contact routes to send unsolicited bulk commercial messages.

Intellectual property

Original articles, page designs and graphics on this site belong to the site operator. Code examples published in the guides and the source of the tools may be used freely in your own projects, with no attribution required and no warranty of any kind.

Third-party names, trademarks and logos mentioned in the guides belong to their owners and are used descriptively. See the trademark and copyright page.

No warranty

The site and its tools are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. The content is general information, not professional advice, and is not a substitute for a qualified professional who knows your circumstances.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of this site, its tools, or anything you build after reading it. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Third-party links and advertising

This site links to external resources and displays advertising supplied by Google AdSense. The operator does not control and is not responsible for third-party content, products, services or privacy practices. An advertisement or a link is not an endorsement. Any dealings you have with an advertiser are solely between you and that advertiser.

Enquiries are not a contract

Sending a project, sponsorship or domain enquiry creates no obligation on either side. No agreement exists until it is set out in writing and signed by both parties. Estimates produced by the cost estimator are illustrative planning figures, not quotations or offers.

Changes and governing law

These terms may be revised; the date above changes when they are. Continued use after a revision means acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec, Canada, and the courts of that province have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
