Editorial policy

Last updated 31 October 2026

This page states how content here is produced, so you can judge how much to trust it.

Who writes it

Content is written and edited by the operator of this site, working with AI drafting tools. Every published page is read, corrected and fact-checked by a person before it goes live. Nothing is published straight from a generator.

How accuracy is handled

  • Code examples are written against the current stable version of the language or tool, and the version is stated where it matters.
  • Claims about third-party behaviour link to the primary documentation rather than to a secondary blog post.
  • Figures taken from outside research are attributed in the text, with the source named so you can check it.
  • Every guide carries a visible “last updated” date. Dates are only changed when the content actually changes.

Corrections

Errors are corrected rather than quietly deleted. Where a correction changes the substance of a guide, a short note is added saying what changed and when. Report an error through the contact page; corrections of fact are made quickly and without argument.

Independence and money

This site is funded by advertising served through Google AdSense, and may in future carry clearly labelled sponsorship. Advertisers have no influence over what is published, no advance sight of content, and no ability to have a guide changed or removed. Advertising is selected automatically by Google; it is not chosen by this site and should not be read as a recommendation.

No guide is written in exchange for payment. If that ever changes, the page will be labelled as sponsored at the top, before the content, in line with advertising rules and search engine guidelines.

What we do not publish

  • Invented statistics, fabricated testimonials or made-up case studies.
  • Thin pages written only to carry advertising.
  • Scraped or republished content from other sites.
  • “Best of” lists ranked by affiliate commission.
  • Security material that is more useful for attacking systems than defending them.

Using our content

Quote a few sentences with attribution and a link, freely. For republication of a whole article, ask first. Code samples are free to use without permission — see the copyright notice.
