Privacy policy

Last updated 31 October 2026

This policy explains what information Code.House collects, why, and what choices you have. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.

The short version

  • There are no accounts on this site, and no sign-up.
  • We do not run our own tracking or analytics scripts.
  • Advertising is supplied by Google AdSense, which uses cookies.
  • Video is embedded from YouTube, which sets its own cookies when a video loads.
  • If you send an enquiry, you send it by email, and we hold that email in an ordinary mailbox.
  • Everything the tools on this site process stays inside your browser.

Information collected automatically

Like every web server, the hosting provider records standard request logs — IP address, time, requested page, browser user agent and referring page. These are used for security and to keep the site working, and are held by the hosting provider under its own retention schedule.

Advertising cookies

This site shows advertising through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites.

  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • You can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info and Your Online Choices.
  • Choosing “Essential only” in the notice shown on this site records a preference that instructs the advertising tag to request non-personalised advertising. Non-personalised ads still use a cookie for frequency capping and fraud prevention.
  • More detail is in Google's how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Embedded video

Video courses are embedded from YouTube. A YouTube embed is only loaded after you click to play it, so no YouTube cookie is set simply by opening the page. Once a video is loaded, YouTube and Google receive your IP address and may set cookies under their own privacy policy, which governs that interaction.

When you contact us

Enquiry forms on this site do not post data to a server. They open your own email program with the message pre-filled, so you can see exactly what is being sent before sending it. Messages received are stored in an ordinary email mailbox and used only to reply to you and to keep a record of the conversation. They are not sold, rented or added to a marketing list, and they are not shared with anyone outside this site except where the law requires it.

What stays in your browser

The tools on this site — the JSON formatter, regex tester, Base64 converter, generators, colour checker and estimator — run entirely as JavaScript in your browser. The text you paste into them is never transmitted. The site also uses browser local storage for three small preferences: your light or dark mode choice, your cookie choice, and your progress markers on the roadmap page. You can clear these at any time through your browser's site data settings.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of personal information held about you, to object to processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Because this site holds almost nothing — only the emails you choose to send — the practical response to most requests is to delete the email thread. To make a request, use the contact page.

Residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Quebec and other jurisdictions with comparable laws may exercise those rights regardless of where this site is operated.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and it will be deleted.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top will change and the revision will be described here. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
